Duval County FL - Homestead Exemption
The Florida Homestead Exemption and how to apply for it in Clay County, Florida.
This information is mainly for my buyers that have purchased a property last year in 2021. You can search for your property and see whether or not homestead has been granted.

Clay County Property Appraiser's Office
Search by your name or your address.
For example:
If it says no for homestead, you need to apply for it.
Office of the Clay County Property Appraiser has all the information on Tax Exemption or Reductions.
Download the form DR-501 that you have to fill out. Most of the questions are straight forward, some questions will require a look up for your property on
Clay County Property Appraiser's Office.
Parcel Identification Number is located on top of the Parcel Summary:
Copy it and paste it under Parcel Identification number or Legal Description.
To find type of deed and how it was recorded in book, page, date, scroll down on the same page until you find Sales. The most recent one is on top and that is the one that you've purchased from the previous seller.
Type of deed for this example would be: warranty deed
Book would be 4314, Deed Page 225 and Date 5/21/2020. Use this example and write in your numbers from Clay County website under your property.
Once you fill out the whole form, make a copy of your documents to help establish your residency. Those proofs have to reflect your new address.
